Lessons learned about Praising God | Cibi Abraham

I accepted Lord Jesus Christ as personal savior at the age of 27 years. I did not have any thing other than Jesus on this earth as possession. Only thing I knew is to praise God as there was no light at the end of tunnel. After 17 years of Christian walk, when hard time comes in my personal life and with others, all I know is to find a place and praise God for situation. Being that said does not mean, all I do I sit and praise God in difficult situation. Most often I find myself trying to find remedy for situation and struggling very hard and at the end I realize, I should have taken myself and situation to praising God and submitting my request to Almighty and All knowing God.

Recently I heard a sermon, I would like to share a portion about it. Preacher of sermon went to visit a sick person in hospital and he ended up meeting a terminally ill person who was unable to speak. He got a paper from his wife and started scribbling something and hand it to Pastor. Anxiously, Preacher looked into paper thinking it’s prayer request and realized that all this person had written down is some praise God. Person”s wife mentioned her husband did not take time to praise God or spent time in God’s presence and now he does not want to lose any opportunity to praise God. He could not speak so he had to write down the praises while Pastor was praying. This is real story that has touched my heart. I am a loud and bubbly person in general. I like to praise God loud and recently I had few mouth sores and it was so hard to praise God loud. I had to learn to praise God in quietness and gentleness. It’s very tough. But it’s an experience.

The LORD is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will sing about his greatness. (Exodus 15:2)
